Dylan Thomas Memorial Wreath Laying
On a very busy day at Westminster Abbey around 50 friends and family of the Dylan Thomas Society watched Dylan's great grandson Charlie Jackson lay the wreath on his great grandfather's memorial stone at Poet's Corner.
The brilliant Guy Masterson (nephew of the late Richard Burton) then drew in the crowds with a masterful rendition of 'Fernhill.' The Society members then retired to the Wheatsheaf in Fitzrovia where Dylan first met his wife to be Caitlin Macnamara in 1936. Drinks were taken and Guy evoked childhood memories with Dylan's 'Holiday Memory.' Another memorable occasion continuing the tradition that was started way back in 1982 when the memorial stone was first unveiled. Photos come courtesy of Geoff Haden, Andrew Dally & Guy Masterson |

'Prince of the Apple Towns' - Dunvant Male Choir, Hannah Ellis & More
The Dunvant Male Choir and the Dylan Thomas Society with wonderful performances from Theatr Cadair presented a celebration of the life and works of Dylan Thomas at Bishop Gore School. It was an evening that traced Dylan's life from his birth in 1914 at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive to his final tour of America in 1953.
This wonderful evening was a time travelling journey through wonderful words and music just 3 days before what would have been the poet's 101st birthday. |
